Over 17,000 objects covering 4,500 years deal with the areas of death cult, cultural history, fine arts and the development of writing. Highlights include sarcophagi, mummies, the richly decorated cult chamber of Ka-ni-nisut from the Old Kingdom, as well as facial steles from ancient South Arabia and a lion depiction from Babylon&#8217;s Ishtar Gate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collection of Antiquities:<\/strong>&nbsp;around 2,500 exhibits from three millennia take you into the fascinating world of classical antiquity.&nbsp;Particularly noteworthy are the treasure finds from the Migration Period and the early Middle Ages, the unique antique cameos and the vase collection with masterpieces such as the Brygos Skyphos.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Picture Gallery:<\/strong> In addition to the world&#8217;s largest Bruegel collection, the picture gallery shows many major works of Western art, including masterpieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, Titian, D\u00fcrer and Tintoretto. Particularly worth mentioning are Raphael&#8217;s &#8220;Madonna im Gr\u00fcnen&#8221;, the Infanta pictures by Velazquez and Vermeer&#8217;s &#8220;Malkunst&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vienna Art Chamber:<\/strong>&nbsp;As one of the most important Art Chambers in the world, it presents rare exhibits from the former Habsburg treasury and cabinet of curiosities.&nbsp;The showpiece is the already mentioned Saliera by Benvenuto Cellini. The Art Chamber of Emperor Rudolf II and the exotica complex are also well worth seeing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coin Cabinet:<\/strong> This collection with around 600,000 objects from three millennia is one of the five largest and most important coin collections in the world.
