On its four floors, the Haus der Musik takes you into the fascinating world of tone and sound phenomena. In the following we describe the individual floors in detail.<\/p>\n

There are usually 12 concerts spread over the year.<\/p>\n An overview of the concerts can be found in the museum’s event calendar.<\/a><\/p>\n An important goal of the museum is to give children and young people access to the world of music and to set new music-educational measures. Among other things, the “Zookonzert” virtual installation contributes to this – an exciting hands-on fairy tale for kids.<\/p>\n In addition, the Haus der Musik inspires its little ones with numerous children’s concerts<\/strong>. More about this here<\/a>.<\/p>\n History<\/span><\/p>\n The House of Music was opened in 2000. It is located in Archduke Carl Palace, where the imperial casting house stood in the 16th century.<\/p>\n Only at the beginning of the 19th century, when the building was bought and rebuilt by the Austrian general Archduke Charles of Austria-Hungary, did it take on the shape of a palace.<\/p>\n In 1842 the composer and conductor Otto Nicolai moved into the building and founded the Vienna Philharmonic Concerts here. Therefore, the Palace is considered the birthplace of the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, which is honored with the Museum of the Vienna Philharmonic on the 1st floor, Nicolai’s former apartment.<\/p>\n Founded in 2000, the Sound Museum was awarded the Austrian Museum Prize for its innovative concept. <\/p>\n The innovative House of Music in the historic Archduke Carl Palace in the 1st district is an interactive sound museum.
