1. Steirereck
The restaurant has 2 stars in the Michelin Guide 2020; so it's definitely worth a detour. It is considered the most exclusive restaurant in Vienna. From the outside, the Steirereck is ultra-modern, large blocks of mirrored glass under the trees of the city park, inside, light-colored wood and light-flooded rooms provide the necessary elegance.
The cuisine is upscale, Austrian, classic Viennese dishes are skilfully modified and redefined at the highest level.

2. The Loft
On the 18th floor of the 5-star luxury Hotel Sofitel in Vienna, cosmopolitan cuisine and sparkling drinks meet an incomparable view. It is an unforgettable experience to see the Imperial City from a bird's eye view.

3. Red Bar in Hotel Sacher
The Red Bar in Hotel Sacher invites you to fine dining with Viennese flair. The dining room, furnished with red velvet, is decorated with large oil paintings and crystal chandeliers and is reminiscent of times long past. 4. Green Bar in Hotel Sacher

5. Steakhaus in the Ritz Carlton
The District Steakhouse is located directly on the ring road in the Ritz Carlton. Round arched windows, leather and wood create the right atmosphere. Grilled on an original "Josper" charcoal grill oven.
Only the best prime cuts from Austria are available here, the sauces are mostly homemade.
In this stylish environment, guests enjoy their steak with a view of Vienna's famous Ringstrasse. Reservation is recommended.

6. Glashaus in Palais Coburg
The new Clementine restaurant is located in the former greenhouse of the city palace, which was completed in 1845 and has a late-classical style. It is named after Princess Clementine von Orleans, who was the first resident of Palais Coburg in 1850.
Glazed all around, it offers an enchanting view of the palace, in summer you can sit in the garden in the green. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. The cuisine is traditional Viennese, the dishes are reinterpreted at the highest level. The restaurant is considered a culinary trend hotspot in the Viennese scene.

7. Tower Restaurant in Vienna's Danube Tower

8. Figlmuller
Anyone who loves schnitzel goes to Figlmüller. Originally opened as a wine bar directly behind St. Stephen's Cathedral, the restaurant has been serving its guests since 1905. The atmosphere is cozy and traditional, the cuisine local. In addition to schnitzel in all variations, there are many other Austrian specialties on the menu.
Figlmüller is also called "the home of the schnitzel", which has a diameter of at least 30 centimeters here. Although only veal schnitzel can be called “Wiener Schnitzel”, Figlmüller also makes pork schnitzel. That's a "Schnitzel Viennese style".

9. Plachuta
"...where boiled beef is at home...." The Plachutta family has made it its mission to cultivate beef culture. Emperor Franz Josef once made the boiled beef famous by declaring it his favorite dish.
The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, the cuisine is typically Austrian. Of course, apart from boiled beef, there are numerous other Viennese specialties on the menu.

10. Via Toledo Enopizzeria
The best pizza in Vienna can be found at Via Toledo Enopizzeria. And not only the best pizza from Vienna, the best pizza in the world comes from Vienna, which was proven at the latest when the owner Francesco Calò became pizza world champion in 2019.
All types of pizza are tastefully prepared and baked in the wood-fired oven for guests. The dough is thin and fluffy and not heavy on the stomach. There is also a large selection of quality Italian wines. The atmosphere is cozy in Italian style.

12. Schweizerhaus
This traditional Viennese restaurant is located directly in Prater. The restaurant with the large beer garden is open from March 15th to October 31st. The cuisine is classic Viennese and of course there are the typical snacks that should not be missing in any beer garden.
The Biergaten is divided into several areas, which are named after the districts of Vienna for better orientation for the guests.
A special feature is the Budweiser Budvar, a draft beer, and the Schweizerhauser beer chocolate, which is made with bock beer.

13. Zum Schwarzen Kameel
The 400-year-old restaurant is named after Johan Baptist Cameel, who set up a spice shop there in 1618. Today the wood-panelled rooms of the Art Nouveau building are used as a restaurant, bar and delicatessen.
Zum Schwarzen Kameel is known for its sandwich compositions, which are served in the patisserie below. The sandwiches in the showcase enjoy cult status. The restaurant above offers Austrian cuisine with an international touch and imaginative variations. The wine list is extensive, it is also sold outside the restaurant. The restaurant describes itself as "the oasis of delicacies".

14. The Vienna Deewan
The "pay as you wish" principle rules at Deewan in Vienna, which means that every guest pays exactly as much as they want. This free payment model has been in operation here since 2005.
The owner Afzaal Deewan is Pakistani, but there is something for everyone at the extensive buffet, vegetarians, vegans, lactose-intolerant people are just as catered for as meat lovers and, of course, Muslims. There are five different curries every day, which change several times a day and three of which are always vegetarian. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed and familiar.

15. Café Landtmann
On October 1, 1873, Franz Landtmann opened the cafe and from the start it was to be the finest in the city. It has remained so to this day, the historical landmark Landtmann is Vienna's most elegant coffee house. The cozy and stylish atmosphere is underlined by Thonet armchairs from the imperial era and mirrors from the golden 20s.
Due to its close proximity to Burgtheater, City Hall and the Federal Chancellery, the café is frequented by actors, politicians, civil servants and journalists, and press conferences are often held here.
Coffee specialties, pastries, cakes and dishes from the Viennese kitchen are on the menu.

16. Café Gloriette
Feel like an emperor against the backdrop of a castle and enjoy one of the famous Viennese pastries, transported back to a bygone era that is over but not forgotten....
The Gloriette was built in 1775 and later served Emperor Franz Josef I as a breakfast room. Today Café Gloriette is located here in the park of Schönbrunn, which impresses with its breathtaking view of the palace. The ambience inside is elegant, the outside area is designed in the style of an Italian street café.
The cuisine is Austrian and is primarily known for its excellent pastries. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays there is the Sissi buffet that serves as a breakfast buffet. Advance reservation is required for breakfast.

17. Café Anzengruber
Actually, the Café Anzengruber is no longer a cafe, but more reminiscent of a pub, an original Viennese pub. However, the furnishings are clearly from its time as a real Viennese coffee house and have not been renewed or renovated since then.
The menu is relatively clear and specializes in Viennese food. It is said that the best Wiener Schnitzel is found here, and the goulash is also famous.
The Café Anzengruber opens every day at 4 p.m. Here you will find many local guests who appreciate the charisma of the place and drink a Budweiser beer or play chess in the cozy atmosphere. Anzengruber is a popular Viennese unique.

18. Mayer am Nussberg und am Pfarrplatz
There are numerous wine taverns in Vienna, but the most famous is probably the traditional Mayer am Pfarrplatz winery. Nussdorf has been pressed in Heiligenstadt since 1683. Ludwig van Beethoven lived in the house, which is now a historical landmark, in 1817 and worked on his 9th symphony.
The typical Viennese restaurant is open all year round. The atmosphere is cozy, the menu Austrian. Original recipes are cleverly modified and refined. There are also quality wines from their own cultivation.
Very close by, directly in the vineyards, is Mayer's Buschenschank am Nussberg and offers a unique atmosphere. Heuriger is served here, of course, and cold dishes are usually served with it. The Brettljause is very popular.
Wine from the current vintage is called a heuriger. Heurigen wines are light and easy to drink and may only be called that until November 11 of the same year. Winegrowers are allowed to serve wine from their own cultivation in a so-called Buschenschank.
Because of its special cultural significance, the Viennese Heurigen culture was included in the national UNESCO list of Austria's intangible cultural heritage in 2019.

19. NENI
NENI is one of the most interesting places in Naschmarkt. Opened in 2009 as a family business, the NENI has since grown into an international chain with branches in Berlin and Zurich, among other places.
Run by Haya Molcho and her four sons, the building in Naschmarkt offers breakfast of all kinds in the café on the ground floor from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Anatolian, Israeli, Oriental and much more, sandwiches made from homemade Israeli bread are over sold in the alley and upstairs, in the restaurant under the roof, there is Israeli cuisine with an international twist. The atmosphere is cozy.

20. Pichlmayrs zum Herkner
The atmosphere in the newly renovated suburban inn, which is run as a family business, is cosy, the rustic furnishings cleverly spiced up with modern elements. The inner courtyard is ideal for romantic dinners in summer, and there is also a terrace on the 1st floor.
The kitchen is traditional, upscale Austrian, and value is placed on products from the surrounding area. Farmer's bread is baked nearby in a 110-year-old stone oven. The wine list includes Austrian, French, Italian, German and Spanish wines.

21. Swing Kitchen
In this inn, which has existed since 1793, Schillingers gradually replaced all meat products with vegan products in the family-run restaurant. They were able to prove that vegan cuisine does not necessarily mean doing without, but can also be very enjoyable and varied.
The restaurant is a vegan fast food place. The atmosphere is fresh and bright, with light swing music playing in the background. The table decoration consists of basil and rosemary plants.
You will look in vain for plastic here, the packaging is all biodegradable. The menu includes original vegan burgers in a wide variety of variations, schnitzel and various desserts.

22. Dinner im Dunkeln
Dinner im Dunkeln (Dinner in the Dark) in Vienna is a special experience. Dine in complete darkness. The service staff consists of blind or very visually impaired people, people who are very familiar with the dark and who guide the guests safely to their tables.
The placement of the objects on the table is explained using the clock, for example the salt is at 12 o'clock. Very soon you notice how quickly the body adjusts to the new situation and the other senses try to compensate for the lack of light. You can feel the presence of the table partner, every sound is suddenly full of meaning, the nose tries to recognize the food.
Tasty menus with four courses are served, followed by the resolution and the guests find out what they ate...
