Bus Connections
Almost all international coach lines and long-distance buses to destinations in Austria and Europe start from the Vienna bus station. 45 bus companies handle 2.1 million passengers per year, 80,000 trips are made per year.
There are bus connections to many Austrian cities, as well as to Lower Austria, Burgenland, Tyrol and Carinthia.
In addition, destinations in Europe include Germany, Italy, France, Denmark, Holland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Poland.
In addition to Eurolines, the bus station is also served by the companies Flixbus and ÖBB-Intercitybus.
Long-Distance Bus Stop
The bus station is used exclusively for long-distance bus travel. The central bus station in Vienna is an important point for domestic and international long-distance bus transport, connecting Vienna with many parts of Europe. Due to its geographical location, the bus station plays a special role as a gateway to Eastern Europe.
The Vienna International Bus Terminal is open 365 days a year, Monday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays and public holidays from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Flixbus at the Vienna International Bus Terminal
Flixbus is the largest long-distance bus company serving the Vienna International Bus Station. The company was founded in 2012 with headquarters in Munich and in 2019 served approximately 2,500 destinations in 30 countries with 62 million customers. Flixbus thus holds a market share of over 90% in the long-distance bus market.
The Flixbus also goes to the main train station and the airport.
The green double-decker buses are modern, comfortable vehicles with on-board toilets and free WiFi. Snacks and drinks are sold during the ride.
Flixbus tickets are primarily sold via a dedicated online platform and through travel agencies, and some cities also have their own Flixbus stores.
Public Transport
The bus station can be reached with the U3-Erdberg stop. It is diagonally opposite the bus stop.
The "Air-Liner" airport shuttle also offers a convenient connection between the VIB bus station, the Vienna underground network and Vienna Schwechat Airport.

Taxis
Taxis are available at the VIB.
The basic fee for taxis in Vienna is 3.80 euros, the first 4 kilometers cost 1.42 euros, the next 5 kilometers 1.08 euros and each additional kilometer 1.05 euros.
The night rate applies between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The basic fee is 4.30 euros, the first 4 kilometers cost 1.62 euros,
the next 5 kilometers cost 1.28 euros and each additional kilometer costs 1.18 euros.
Standing and waiting time will be charged at 27.80 euros per hour.

A bistro is located in the sales building of the Vienna International Bus Terminal.
Near the VIB you will find the Gusto, where Austrian cuisine is offered.
